
As Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Maulud nationwide, Oyo State acting governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, has congratulated the Muslim faithful in the state and across Nigeria on witnessing the Eid-el-Mawlid 2025, tasking them to use the auspicious occasion to pray for the country and the state.
The acting governor, who felicitated Muslims, maintained that the spiritual importance of Eid-el-Mawlid cannot be underestimated, as it commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him).
He noted that the Eid-el-Maulud presents Muslims with a glorious opportunity to be closer to Allah in worship and to seek His face on diverse issues.
He equally used the occasion to appreciate the Muslim Ummah in the state for their support for the Governor Seyi Makinde administration over the last six years and some months, calling on them to continue to support the administration as it works hard to deliver sustainable development to the state.
He said: “On behalf of His Excellency, Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, let me use this opportunity to felicitate all Muslims in Oyo State and across the country on witnessing the Eid-el-Mawlid 2025.
Also, the federal lawmaker representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West in the House of Representatives, Adedeji Olajide (Odidiomo) has urged for peace, compassion and unity to reign in Nigeria.
While felicitating with Muslims on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, he said: “this blessed occasion calls us to renew the virtues exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) teaching us compassion, honesty, humility, justice and service to humanity.
