The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun interrogating former Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, over financial dealings tied to the multi-billion-naira Turnaround Maintenance (TAM) projects for the nation’s refineries.
Kyari was said to have appeared at the EFCC headquarters on Wednesday to answer questions regarding allegations of misappropriation of funds earmarked for refinery rehabilitation during his tenure.
This development follows last month’s order by a Federal High Court, which temporarily froze four of Kyari’s accounts with Jaiz Bank as part of the ongoing investigation.
