A high-level delegation from Liberia and Sierra Leone, led by the Vice-President of the ECOWAS Commission, has successfully laid the symbolic foundation stone and officially handed over the site for the construction of a Twin Border Post (TBP) statement by the ECOWAS Commission has stated.
According to the Statement, this significant development occurs at the border between Jendema in Sierra Leone and Bo Waterside in Liberia. The site has now been handed over to the designated construction company, with an expected completion timeline of twenty-four months.
The establishment of this Twin Border Post aligns with ECOWAS’ Vision 2050, which prioritizes the free movement of people and goods while promoting economic integration and expanding regional trade.
Fully funded by the ECOWAS Commission, this initiative is a crucial component of the regional transport facilitation program designed to enhance trade efficiency, reduce transit times, and ensure the seamless movement of goods and travelers.
The construction of the Jendema–Bo Waterside Twin Border Post is set to strengthen the ties between border communities in Liberia and Sierra Leone, while also enhancing regional connectivity along the Praia–Dakar–Abidjan corridor.
