Media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has launched a new podcast, “MENtality with Ebuka,” designed to reshape societal perceptions of masculinity and encourage men to embrace vulnerability, empathy, and emotional growth.
The podcast was unveiled on Tuesday night at a star-studded event in Lagos, hosted by Deji Osikoya, and attended by prominent figures including Tobi Bakre, Nancy Isime, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Timini Egbuson, and Banky W.
Produced by She Tank Studios, a division of the global culture lab The She Tank, the podcast aims to challenge traditional notions of manhood and promote inclusive conversations around gender and emotional wellness.
“True gender equality requires men’s active participation,” said Blessing Omakwu, co-executive producer and founder of The She Tank. “MENtality is about opening up the difficult conversations society often avoids but are essential for real progress.”
A highlight of the launch was the Women Talk Back panel featuring Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi and Tolu ‘Toolz’ Oniru-Demuren, who discussed topics such as love, identity, and the financial pressures facing Nigerian men. Their candid exchange drew lively reactions from the audience and trended across social media.
Speaking at the event, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu said: “Too often, men are confined by outdated ideals. MENtality provides a safe space for men to speak openly about their struggles, fears, and growth, without shame.”
Co-host Banky W added: “We’re moving beyond toxic masculinity to foster a more honest and hopeful understanding of manhood, one conversation at a time.”
Guests were treated to a preview of the debut season, which features thought-provoking conversations with Seun Kuti, Johnny Drille, and Timi Dakolo. Each episode blends storytelling with unfiltered dialogue, exploring what it truly means to be a man in contemporary Nigeria.
New episodes of MENtality with Ebuka drop every Friday on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other major streaming platforms.
