Veteran Nigerian musician Ebenezer Obey has dismissed reports claiming that he is dead or battling a stroke, describing them as “lies from the kingdom of darkness.”
In a video posted on Instagram, Obey appeared alongside his two sons, joyfully singing to assure fans of his good health. The caption read: “Stop the rumours!!!! Ebenezer Obey is alive and well.”
The Juju music legend revealed that he had travelled to London for personal care and expressed frustration over the circulation of false images, including doctored photos of coffins.
Reaffirming his faith, Obey declared: “Everything they have said is nothing but lies that came from the kingdom of darkness. I am alive, I am alive, says the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you very much. I don’t have a stroke. I came to London to look after myself.”
This is not the first time the 82-year-old has had to address such rumours. Similar false reports about his death surfaced in 2020 and again earlier this year.
