President Bola Tinubu has received a detailed security briefing from the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Tosin Adeola Ajayi, amid rising concerns over kidnappings, banditry, and other security threats across Nigeria.
The briefing, disclosed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, comes in the wake of a spate of recent incidents, including the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State, attacks on places of worship, and escalating violence in several northern and central states.
Onanuga shared the development on X, posting a photograph of the meeting and noting: “The Director General of the Department of State Services, DSS, Mr. Tosin Adeola Ajayi, briefing President Bola Tinubu on the security situation on Friday night”.
According to informed sources, the meeting involved an extensive review of the current security landscape, including ongoing operations against kidnappers, bandits, and insurgent groups. Ajayi reportedly provided updates on intelligence-gathering efforts, coordination among federal and state security agencies, and strategies to preempt further attacks.
The DSS Director also briefed the President on emerging threats, the status of ongoing investigations, and measures being taken to protect vulnerable communities, particularly in regions most affected by violent criminal activity.
The government continues to reassure Nigerians that all necessary measures are being taken to combat insecurity while urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
