Mavin Records has welcomed a new talent into its fold, as music executive Don Jazzy announced the signing of 21-year-old singer and songwriter CupidSZN.
The rising artist’s journey to the label has been years in the making. Don Jazzy revealed that he first received a message from CupidSZN’s father four years ago, introducing his then teenage son’s music.
The message went unnoticed at the time, but the young performer continued to sharpen his sound and eventually crossed paths with the label again two years later.
According to Don Jazzy, CupidSZN distinguished himself during his time at the Mavin Academy, earning a place on the official roster. The label boss described his growth as a testament to consistency and self-improvement, noting that the artist is now ready for a major career breakthrough.
CupidSZN, whose music blends Afropop and Afrobeats with witty lyricism, expressed gratitude to those who supported his journey.
In a post on Instagram, he thanked Don Jazzy, the Mavin Records team, and his fans for believing in his talent. He also acknowledged his family for relocating to Lagos to support his ambitions, adding that he remains grateful to God for guidance and opportunities.
The singer’s debut EP, Myth Era, has officially been released, setting the stage for what many predict will be a promising run in the Nigerian music scene.
Before joining Mavin Records, CupidSZN had already begun attracting attention with tracks like “Service” (2024), “I Want More” (2025), and “Osogeme,” which features Wademix.
