Nigerian music producer and record executive Michael Collins Ajereh, widely known as Don Jazzy, has opened up about the qualities he looks for in a romantic partner.
The Mavin Records boss spoke about his preferences during an appearance on the Is This Seat Taken podcast hosted by actress Chinasa Anukam.
During the conversation, Don Jazzy said he is particularly attracted to women with calm and gentle personalities, stressing that peace and emotional balance are important in his relationships.
According to the music executive, he avoids relationships that come with unnecessary tension or frequent arguments.
He explained that aggressive behaviour, especially shouting, quickly discourages him from continuing a relationship because he prefers a calm and stress-free environment.
“My ideal woman for dating, in order of importance, first of all, you have to be a freak. I don’t know how I found that out, but it is one,” he said.
“Secondly, you have to be soft both in body and personality. Because if you shout at me, you are dating yourself. I don’t like stress. I don’t tolerate stress and violence.”
Don Jazzy added that he tends to withdraw from situations where he senses hostility or confrontational behaviour.
“The moment you try to be nonchalant or violent, you will not see me again,” he said.
The veteran producer is one of Nigeria’s most influential figures in the music industry and has played a major role in shaping modern Afrobeats through his work with Mavin Records and several chart-topping artists.
