Popular Nigerian music producer and record executive Don Jazzy has spoken candidly about his fear of getting married again, citing failed relationships, public scandals, and the financial risks associated with divorce as key reasons for his hesitation.
Speaking in a recent interview with HabbyFX, the Mavin Records boss explained that while he still believes in love, the realities of modern relationships, especially those that play out on social media, have made him cautious.
“My parents were madly in love before my mom died, and that makes me believe in love,” Don Jazzy said. “But when you see messy breakups online, it gives fear.”
He went on to express concern about how divorce can affect men financially, particularly in countries where prenuptial agreements are not in place.
“A man has to lose half of all that he has worked for in his life, that’s for those who don’t have a prenup, like in America,” he noted. “All those things used to scare me. The money I have amassed is for my generation.”
Despite his reservations, Don Jazzy said he hasn’t given up on marriage entirely, adding that he remains hopeful about finding the “right person.”
“I’m still optimistic,” he said. “When I meet the right person, I’ll get married.”
Don Jazzy was previously married in 2003 but divorced two years later, a part of his life he has openly discussed as one of his biggest lessons in love and commitment.
