Mavin Records founder Don Jazzy has revealed that he intentionally avoids luxury indulgences such as private jets and exotic cars, despite being financially capable of affording them.
Speaking in an interview with Habby FX, the renowned producer and music executive explained that he prioritises investment, self-improvement, and supporting others over showing off material wealth.
“I’ve been blessed enough for a long time to be able to afford any type of car I want or even buy a private jet. But I have more important things to take care of. Nothing beats investment,” he said.
Don Jazzy noted that investments go beyond financial ventures, stressing that personal development is one of the most valuable forms of investment anyone can make.
He disclosed that he is currently learning forex trading as part of his efforts to acquire new skills that could yield long-term benefits.
“The forex that I’m learning now is an investment in myself. Tomorrow, it’s going to turn into a skill I can use. Don’t just be useless. Go and acquire some skill,” he advised.
The music mogul urged Nigerian youths to embrace practical skills and adapt to the evolving realities of the modern world, warning that many traditional professions risk becoming obsolete due to technological disruption and the rise of artificial intelligence.
“You don’t have to be a doctor, lawyer, or engineer. In this internet and AI age, a lot of jobs will disappear. Why not learn something tangible?”
Don Jazzy also pointed out that Nigeria still imports furniture from countries like Turkey and China, despite having the capacity to produce them locally if more people developed craftsmanship and technical expertise.
Through his comments, Don Jazzy reinforced his reputation as one of Nigeria’s most forward-thinking entertainers, a creative who prioritises sustainability, innovation, and people empowerment over flashy wealth.
