Detty December Fest 2025 concluded its month-long celebration of music, culture, and live experiences at Ilubirin, Lagos, from December 7 to 29, solidifying its status as one of Africa’s most anticipated end-of-year festivals.
Dubbed “Africa’s Real Summer,” the festival featured four highlight days of high-energy performances that brought together global stars and top African talent. International headliners Busta Rhymes and Gunna shared the stage with African icons including Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Shenseea, Phyno, Fave, Juma Jux, Qing Madi, and Diamond Platnumz.
The festival opened on December 7 with a spectacular show featuring aerial ballerinas, setting a theatrical tone for the month-long programming. Nigerian performers Wande Coal, Young Jonn, Ice Prince, Darey, Fola, Shoday, and Jerry Shaffer wowed audiences on the opening night.
Partnering with the Federal Ministry of Arts and Culture, the festival received recognition from Minister Hannatu Musa Musawa, who described Detty December Fest as a defining contributor to Nigeria’s cultural ecosystem. She highlighted its role in strengthening the country’s global creative presence and boosting holiday tourism.
