Nigerian politician and Dele Momodu has disclosed that discussions are ongoing with the Adeleke family to resolve the child custody dispute involving singer Davido and his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu, who is also Momodu’s niece.
The announcement comes amid public calls for Momodu to intervene following the recent withdrawal of the custody case by Davido, reportedly after Sophia’s lawyer referenced the circumstances surrounding the death of Davido’s late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, in court, according to Journalists.
Reacting to appeals for his involvement while in Liberia to console former Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor over the loss of her only child, Momodu reassured the public that the matter is being handled privately.
“Nothing to worry about. Everything is going to be alright. We’re working behind the scenes. Please, keep everyone in your prayers,” he said.
The publisher’s statement indicates that both families are seeking an amicable resolution to the dispute, avoiding further public scrutiny.
