Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has admitted that Nigeria faces a tough challenge in their bid to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Eagles will take on Rwanda on Saturday before locking horns with South Africa next Tuesday in two crucial qualifiers.
Speaking to newsmen, Dele-Bashiru stressed the importance of the fixtures:
“All the players, coaching staff and fans have the same expectations for these upcoming games of the World Cup qualifiers, and that is to win the games.
We are in a difficult situation now, six points off the top, but everyone knows what we need to do, and that is what we are going to work towards.
We have got a few more players coming in today, so once the squad is complete, the work really starts, and I’m confident we will get the job done.”
Nigeria currently trail in Group C of the African qualifiers, making the next two games pivotal to their World Cup hopes.
