Global entertainer and tech entrepreneur D’banj has announced the launch of the Nigerian Youth Positively Driven (NYPD) initiative, a nationwide movement designed to spotlight Nigerians who are championing positive change in their communities.
The unveiling took place in Abuja during the UN@80 celebration, where the Creative Alliance for Peace was also introduced. The new initiative follows Afreximbank’s recent equity acquisition of D’banj’s C.R.E.A.M Platform, marking another bold step in his push to merge creativity, technology, and national development.
Weekly Grants to Reward Positive Impact
Through the NYPD portal, Nigerians are encouraged to submit stories capturing acts of service, innovation, and community transformation. Each week, selected individuals will receive a ₦1 million grant, while those who upload the featured entries will earn ₦250,000. The weekly payout structure positions NYPD as one of the country’s most consistent reward systems focused on social good.
Once beneficiaries receive their grants through the C.R.E.A.M Platform, the highlighted submissions are forwarded to the Creative Alliance for Peace for further amplification, project development, and long-term support. A key thrust of the alliance is promoting renewable energy solutions and sustainability-focused initiatives across Nigeria.
Redirecting the National Conversation
D’banj described the NYPD as a call to shift attention toward the positive work being done by young Nigerians.
“When you talk about the creative industry, content is our biggest export,” he said. “But the youth still lack strong platforms and alliances that provide real support. Africa leads in creativity, and we’ve barely explored its potential. NYPD is about uniting young people who are positively driven and giving them a platform to thrive.”
He added that the movement aims to amplify real stories shaping Nigeria’s future, countering the dominance of negative narratives.
The NYPD initiative is now open nationwide, with D’banj urging Nigerian youth to participate and help build a culture that celebrates progress, creativity, and community impact.
