Veteran Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has cautioned vendors, business owners, and marketers against using her images, videos, or name to promote products without her explicit approval.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Amusa emphasized that purchasing a product or service does not obligate her to endorse, tag, or promote it on her social media accounts.
“Henceforth!!! If I am paying or I pay for your product or service, don’t expect me to mention or tag you in my post,” she wrote.
The actress also clarified that she does not operate any charity aside from her own initiative, the Dayo Amusa Foundation.
“Also, do not use my picture/video on your page for any form of promotional purposes without my consent or permission. If you do, you go hear am. Read that again!!! To whom it may concern. I don’t run a charity except @dayoamusafoundation,” Amusa added.
She further warned of consequences for anyone who violates her directive: “Do not use my picture/video for any form of sales marketing or promotional purposes without my permission, consent, or authorization. If you do, you go hear am Ese o! Thank you!”
Her statement underlines the importance of consent in celebrity endorsements and serves as a clear reminder to brands and individuals to seek approval before leveraging her image or name for promotional purposes.
