Actress, singer, and filmmaker Dayo Amusa has been elected National Vice President, Southwest, of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), expressing gratitude to her colleagues for their trust and support.
Amusa, who has already been sworn into office, described her election as a “call to service” and shared her excitement about the responsibilities ahead. She noted that the confidence reposed in her by guild members is a deep honour.
“First and foremost, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for the incredible dedication, passion, and tireless efforts poured into the last elections,” Amusa said. “Your commitment, strategic thinking, long hours, and collective energy made all the difference. Together, we achieved something truly remarkable, and I am forever grateful.”
The Nollywood star, whose film Dewunmi Iberu set new production standards in the industry, also acknowledged members who have pledged to continue working with her in her new role. She described their support as a privilege she does not take lightly.
“As we begin this new chapter together, I am filled with excitement and optimism,” she said. “I look forward to working hand-in-hand with all of you to bring to life every goal and initiative we outlined. I am also open to fresh ideas, innovative approaches, and new perspectives. This is our Guild, and its success will reflect our collective creativity, unity, and determination.”
Amusa concluded by thanking members for their friendship, support, and partnership, expressing confidence in a productive tenure. “Thank you for believing in this vision. I am truly blessed to have such an exceptional team by my side. Here’s to a successful, impactful, and unforgettable tenure—together.”
