Afrobeats star Davido has publicly expressed appreciation to his father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, for defending him amid an ongoing paternity controversy involving a 12-year-old girl identified as Anu.
Dr. Adeleke recently addressed the matter at a press conference, where he stated that multiple DNA tests conducted by the family showed a 0.00 per cent probability that Davido is Anu’s biological father.
According to reports, the claims surfaced after Anu alleged she was the singer’s daughter, prompting Davido to submit to repeated DNA testing. Dr. Adeleke said all the results returned negative.
During the briefing, Davido’s father also accused investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo of impersonating Anu online in an attempt to discredit the singer. He announced plans to pursue legal action against her for alleged defamation.
Despite the negative DNA results, Dr. Adeleke revealed that the family had offered support to Anu and her mother. This included payment of the child’s school fees and an offer of a university scholarship to her mother.
Anu had earlier called for a DNA test to clarify her identity, citing bullying and emotional distress linked to the controversy. Davido, however, denied the paternity claim and reportedly warned that he would take legal steps against Anu’s mother over the allegations.
Reacting to his father’s intervention, Davido took to Instagram to express gratitude, writing simply: “Thank you, my loving father.”
The paternity saga has continued to generate public debate, drawing reactions from fans, legal observers, and media personalities, as both sides maintain sharply contrasting positions on the matter.
