Afrobeats superstar Davido has shared why performing in Lagos holds a special place in his heart, describing the experience as unmatched despite his global success.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the singer reflected on the thrill of performing his 2025 hit single With You featuring Omah Lay. While acknowledging the energy of international audiences, Davido admitted that performing the song in Lagos delivers a deeper, more personal feeling.
“Nothing like blasting ‘With You’ live with all the fans across the world, but it hits differently back home in Lagos,” he wrote.
The statement comes shortly after Davido concluded the African leg of his 5ive tour, named after his 2025 album. The tour saw him perform to millions of fans across the continent and hundreds of thousands within Nigeria.
His Nigerian shows spanned several states, including Rivers, Abuja, Oyo, Imo, and Lagos, drawing massive crowds and strong fan reactions. The tour officially wrapped up with a high-profile performance in Lagos earlier in January.
Davido’s comments have since resonated with fans online, many of whom echoed his sentiment about the unique bond between Nigerian artists and their home audience.
