Afrobeats star Davido has come under scrutiny online after mistakenly directing criticism at gospel artiste Tosin Bee during an ongoing custody dispute with his estranged partner, Sophia Momodu.
The controversy followed a courtroom exchange involving Momodu’s legal representative, Ebelechukwu Enedah. The disagreement reportedly centred on references to Davido’s late son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, during proceedings.
In a post shared on Instagram, Davido criticised the lawyer’s conduct. However, while expressing his frustration, he reposted content from Tosin Bee, apparently assuming the gospel singer was connected to the lawyer.
In the now-circulated message, Davido made disparaging remarks directed at Tosin Bee, referencing the lawyer’s son and questioning the singer’s music.
Tosin Bee swiftly responded, distancing himself from the matter. He stated that he had no involvement in the legal dispute and clarified that his mother passed away eight years ago. He described the situation as a case of mistaken identity and expressed goodwill despite the incident.
The exchange quickly gained traction across social media platforms, with users highlighting the dangers of misidentification in emotionally charged public disputes.
The episode adds another layer to the highly publicised custody battle, which has continued to attract significant public attention online.
