Social media influencer Dami Foreign has publicly apologised to Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage after facing widespread criticism for a post referencing her son.
The controversy erupted after Dami shared a video of the singer and her child online, accompanied by a caption questioning the boy’s expression. The post quickly drew negative reactions from users who described it as inappropriate and intrusive.
Tiwa Savage responded directly on X, cautioning the influencer against making further remarks about her child. She warned that any repeat of such behaviour would escalate beyond social media.
Hours after the exchange, Dami Foreign addressed the situation, acknowledging the singer’s reaction and accepting responsibility for the post. He stated that his comment was not meant to be harmful and expressed regret over the distress it caused.
In his apology, the influencer emphasised that he harbours no ill intent toward Tiwa Savage or her son. He added that his past online commentary about the singer has largely been positive, even if those posts went unnoticed.
Dami concluded by offering a sincere apology for the public backlash generated by his comment, describing his actions as a lapse in judgment and reiterating that his intentions were rooted in admiration, not malice.
