Popular media personality Daddy Freeze has opened up about the circumstances surrounding his first marriage, revealing that it was largely influenced by pregnancy.
Speaking during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the broadcaster disclosed that he was only 24 years old at the time, while his ex-wife Opeyemi was 22.
Freeze admitted that immaturity and external pressures contributed to their decision to marry, saying the union might not have happened if pregnancy had not been involved.
“We had no business getting married because we were very young and immature,” he said. “She was pregnant. If she were not pregnant, I’m not sure we would have gotten married. So, pregnancy was one of the factors that influenced the marriage.”
Reflecting on the aftermath of their separation, Daddy Freeze expressed pain over being unable to maintain contact with his children since the divorce.
“It has been nearly ten years,” he said. “My ex-wife and I are both very stubborn. It was two damaged people in a union. My only pain is that the marriage didn’t work, and I can’t see or talk to my kids. They’re out of the country now. I traced them, but I don’t want to sneak up on them. If they want to see me, a DM on social media would be enough.”
The OAP and content creator, known for his outspoken views on faith and relationships, said the experience taught him valuable lessons about emotional maturity, communication, and the long-term implications of rushed decisions.
