Comptroller Queen Obazee has officially taken over as the 28th Customs Area Controller for the Nigeria Customs Service, Ondo/Ekiti Area Command, pledging to drive reforms centred on revenue assurance, security, and anti-smuggling efforts.
In a statement shared by NCS official X account on Tuesday, the announcement was made in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Customs Aondoakura Dzungwenen, on September 3.
Speaking during the handover ceremony at the Command’s headquarters in Akure, Obazee said her leadership would focus on four key pillars: revenue assurance, security and supply-chain protection, anti-smuggling supremacy, and trade facilitation excellence.
Obazee also promised a more enabling trade environment for compliant stakeholders.
Welcoming her on behalf of the officers and men, Acting Deputy Comptroller of Administration, Assistant Comptroller Moses Uchegbu, assured her of full cooperation.
“With your assumption of duty, we are committed to sustaining the momentum already built and working tirelessly to meet expectations,” Uchegbu affirmed.
The event ended with goodwill messages from stakeholders, setting the stage for a tenure expected to boost revenue generation, enhance security, and promote trade in Ondo and Ekiti states.
