National Treasury and Economic Planning Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has launched a scathing attack on embattled ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna, accusing him of misleading ODM supporters in Nyanza into opposing the government.
Mbadi argues that the Nyanza region has paid a heavy political price in the past and now deserves to benefit from national development, like other parts of the country.
Speaking after hosting members of the Luo Council of Elders at his Nairobi office, the Cabinet Secretary trained his guns on Sifuna’s defiant stance.
“Some of these people who are claiming to be courageous, if they would be arrested today and taken to Kamiti for six months, when they come out, utaona malilio ile hujawai ona. Infact they will start saying “I am the only child of my mother,” he said.
Mbadi also accused Sifuna, whose Linda Mwananchi tours continue to gain traction, of mobilising ODM supporters against a government he says the party has already sacrificed to join.
“If you do not want to work with Ruto who do you want to work with? You want to work with Uhuru, Wamunyoro and the rest? Come and try to convince us,” he said.
