Nigerian singer Crayon has stirred a wave of online debate after openly criticising his record label and its leadership on social media.
The artist, signed to Blowtime Entertainment, an imprint of Mavin Records, took to his X account to voice frustrations with label management, targeting prominent executives in his posts.
In one tweet, Crayon appeared to reference label founder Don Jazzy, writing, “Don Jazzy na my boy!!!!!! Una dey maddddd!!?? Shayennnnn sharayyyyyy333.”
He also criticised Tega Oghenejobo, describing him as the “highest criminal,” and made a startling allegation that he lost his mother because of the label, though he did not elaborate further.
Another post read, “Mavin is going down!!!!!!,” sparking speculation about a potential fallout between Crayon and the label.
Fans and industry observers have reacted widely online, debating whether the posts indicate a genuine conflict or if the singer’s X account might have been compromised. However, Crayon’s Instagram activity continues normally, suggesting no apparent hacking.
Adding to the speculation, Crayon recently shared information about a possible new venture, Olodum Entertainment, including a booking email address on his Instagram page. This move has led many to believe he may be preparing to leave Mavin Records, though no official confirmation has been made by either party.
Crayon joined Blowtime Entertainment in May 2019 and has since released multiple hits under the label, becoming one of Nigeria’s prominent rising stars in contemporary Afrobeats.
