Afrobeats singer Charles Chibueze Chukwu, widely known as Crayon, has shared a deeply personal tribute in memory of his late mother, Evelyn Chukwu, on what would have been her birthday.
The Mavin Records artist took to X (formerly Twitter) to mark the occasion, revealing that he shaved his hair in line with family custom. As the first son, Crayon explained that the act was a traditional expression of love, honor, and respect following his mother’s passing.

Evelyn Chukwu died unexpectedly on July 4, 2025, just days before Crayon’s birthday. At the time, the singer described the loss as the most painful moment of his life, openly sharing how her death shook him to his core.
