The Federal High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State, has ordered the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to maintain the status quo in the ongoing legal tussle over the enforcement of tinted glass permits.
The directive, issued on Thursday in Suit No. FHC/WR/CS/103/2025, came in response to a case filed by John Aikpokpo-Martins against the IGP and the NPF.
In its interim ruling, the court restrained the police from taking any steps that could undermine the judicial process until the matter is fully heard and determined.
Counsel to the claimant, Kunle Edun (SAN), described the ruling as an important move to safeguard due process and uphold the rule of law.
Echoing the position, NBA Publicity Secretary Bridget Edokwe confirmed that the court specifically directed the police to respect judicial authority and avoid any action that could prejudice the pending case.
