A Lagos-based content creator, Onyinyechi Nwachukwu, has raised fresh concerns about overcrowding at a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) terminal in Ikorodu.
Nwachukwu, popularly known online as Darkskinned Ella, shared a video on social media showing a large number of commuters waiting for buses at the Elepe terminal early Monday morning.
The footage, recorded around 6:30 a.m., captured a long queue of passengers reportedly waiting for transportation while only one bus was available at the time.
According to the content creator, she arrived at the terminal around 6 a.m. and expected to see improvements following the increased bus deployment earlier in the week.
In the caption accompanying the video, she questioned whether the additional buses previously seen at the terminal were only temporary.
“These people don tire me! Mondays are always hectic, that’s why I had to check myself and then the long queue again,” she wrote while tagging the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority.
In the clip, Nwachukwu expressed frustration over the situation, saying commuters had hoped the earlier improvements in bus availability would be sustained.
“We actually thought this change was permanent. What happened?” she said while documenting the crowd at the terminal.
She also wondered if the buses deployed on Thursday and Friday were simply meant to ease pressure temporarily.
The Bus Rapid Transit system in Lagos is overseen by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, which manages and regulates the city’s public transport network.
Nwachukwu said the video forms part of her ongoing “100 Days BRT Challenge,” a social media project aimed at highlighting daily experiences and challenges faced by Lagos commuters using the BRT system.
Her latest post has added to the broader conversation about public transportation capacity in Lagos, particularly during peak commuting hours.
