A United States woman who accused Conor McGregor of sexual assault during an NBA basketball game has officially dropped her lawsuit against the Irish mixed martial arts star.
McGregor, 37, one of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s most high-profile fighters, had consistently denied allegations of sexual battery linked to a 2023 Miami Heat game. On Tuesday, lawyers representing the woman, identified in the initial filing as a 49-year-old Wall Street executive, submitted a notice of voluntary dismissal in a Florida court.
Criminal prosecutors had previously declined to press charges related to the incident. The lawsuit claimed that McGregor met the woman in the VIP section at the end of the game, and that an acquaintance later led her to a men’s restroom, where the alleged assault occurred in a toilet stall.
This is not McGregor’s first sexual assault-related case. In a separate Ireland case last year, he was found liable and ordered to pay roughly $250,000 in damages to a woman who accused him of rape.
Additionally, McGregor was recently given an 18-month suspension after missing three drug tests in a 12-month period. Since the suspension was backdated to September 2024, he will be eligible to return to competition in March 2025, potentially allowing him to participate in a UFC event on June 14 that coincides with US President Donald Trump’s birthday.
