Acclaimed Nigerian DJ and performer, Commissioner DJ Wysei, is set to return to her roots with her first-ever homecoming concert in Mbaise, Imo State, in what is expected to be a memorable end-of-year celebration.
The concert is scheduled to hold on December 31 at Ahiara Junction (Podium), Mbaise, and marks a significant milestone in the DJ’s career. Beyond music and entertainment, the event is positioned as a celebration of identity, gratitude, and community pride.
Over the years, Commissioner DJ Wysei has earned a reputation for delivering electrifying performances, a commanding stage presence, and culturally resonant sets across several cities. The homecoming concert will see her bring that full experience back to the community where her journey began, rounding off the year on a high note.
Speaking on the importance of the event, the DJ described the concert as more than a performance, emphasising its emotional and symbolic value.
“This homecoming is bigger than music. It’s about gratitude, legacy, and letting my people see that dreams born here can travel far and still return home stronger,” she said.
The Homecoming Concert is expected to feature a high-energy DJ performance, surprise guest appearances, and cultural elements designed to foster unity and community bonding. Organisers say the event will offer a unifying experience for residents of Mbaise and neighbouring communities.
Set against the lively backdrop of Ahiara Junction, the concert is anticipated to attract Mbaise indigenes, music lovers, fans, and industry stakeholders, making it one of the area’s most anticipated cultural gatherings of the year.
At its core, the event stands as a reflection on staying connected to one’s roots while building a wider presence, reinforcing themes of heritage, home, and giving back to the community.
