Popular Nigerian comedian AY Makun has expressed outrage over the Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for the FIFA World Cup, describing the team’s performance as “a big shame.”
In a video shared online, AY criticized the national team’s display, stating that despite support and favorable circumstances, the squad failed to live up to expectations.
“It’s a shame. Big shame. Even with the referee, everybody try to help una. Big shame,” he said.
The comedian also highlighted the absence of star striker Victor Osimhen as a critical factor in the team’s struggles.
“The other day I dey praise Osimhen, people dey attack me. Well, he commot… he commot for field, full game change. Full game change,” AY added.
He concluded by telling the players to return to their club teams, insisting that the outcome remains a national embarrassment.
The Super Eagles’ loss to DR Congo last night sealed their fate, ensuring Nigeria would miss the FIFA World Cup for the second consecutive tournament.
AY’s reaction reflects widespread disappointment among Nigerian football fans, many of whom have taken to social media to criticize the team’s performance.
