Samuel Chukwueze believes Fulham should have earned more from their narrow defeat to Manchester City, after the London side fell 5–4 in a dramatic Premier League showdown at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night.
Marco Silva’s team looked out of the contest when they trailed 5–1, but a spirited resurgence saw them score three late goals, pushing the champions to the brink in the closing stages. Chukwueze, introduced from the bench, played a pivotal role by netting twice to ignite Fulham’s fightback.
Despite creating several clear chances that could have secured at least a draw, Fulham were unable to complete the comeback and walked away empty-handed.
Reflecting on the match, Chukwueze told the club’s official website:
“The chances we created in the second half were almost there.
“It was a difficult one to take because we wanted three wins in a row and it didn’t happen, but we’ll keep our heads up. We fought until the last minute and on Sunday (against Crystal Palace) we’re going to give everything for the fans.”
Fulham will now aim to bounce back as they prepare for their next Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace.
