As Nigerians celebrate Christmas, President Bola Tinubu has called for unity, tolerance, and vigilance, stressing the importance of religious freedom and safety nationwide.
In his 2025 Christmas message, the President described the season as a time to reflect on compassion, hope, and goodwill, urging citizens to strengthen bonds of harmony across communities. He extended warm greetings to Christians in Nigeria and around the world, praying for peace and stability.
“May the love of Christ and his message of peace, hope, and goodwill guide us all this season,” Tinubu said, emphasizing that fostering peaceful coexistence remains a central focus of his administration.
He acknowledged the role of Christians in promoting social welfare, noting their contributions to caring for the vulnerable and upholding moral and ethical values in society.
Reflecting on national challenges, Tinubu encouraged Nigerians not to lose hope, stressing that faith and resilience are crucial in navigating difficult times. He reaffirmed his commitment to protecting all citizens, regardless of religion and condemned any form of religious persecution.
The President also highlighted ongoing engagements with leaders of all faiths to strengthen collaboration, prevent conflict and promote a culture of tolerance.
