Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has sparked conversations online after cautioning people against sacrificing their lives for relationships.
In a trending video, Agu advised: “Don’t die to save a relationship; instead kill the relationship to save your life. Love shouldn’t come at the cost of your life.”
His comments struck a chord with many social media users. One wrote, “He spoke the truth, though not easy to heed in reality…” Another added in Pidgin, “Na who dey alive dey do relationship. Staying alive is the key, no allow yeye love make you kpai.”
Born in 1956 in Enugu State, Agu is renowned for his unique expressions and witty slang in Nollywood films. He received the 2012 Nollywood Award for Best Actor in an Indigenous Movie.
