Following the brutal murder of a mother and her six children in Chiranci Dorayi, Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has assured the victims’ family of swift justice.
During a condolence visit, Governor Yusuf expressed deep sympathy over the tragedy and commended the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies for their swift response that led to the arrest of the suspects, according to his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The governor vowed to sign the death warrant for anyone convicted of the Chiranci Dorayi killings, as well as for the perpetrators of the Hanifa killings and the Gezawa arson attacks. He directed the Kano State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice to fast-track prosecutions to ensure that all those found culpable face the law.
In a show of support for the bereaved father, Governor Yusuf approved a comprehensive welfare package, including sponsorship for Hajj and Umrah, a new house, and ongoing government assistance to help him rebuild his life.
He also pledged support should the father decide to remarry.
In gratitude for the government’s assistance, the bereaved father contributed his personal house to the Kano State Government for the construction of an Islamiyya school to serve the community.
