
China has lauded Nigeria’s joint security forces for rescuing four of its citizens kidnapped in Kwara State, describing the operation as swift, coordinated, and highly effective.
The rescued citizens – Dansu Zhou, Zhou Hai, Zhou Jia Jun, and Fan Xiu Guo, were freed on Saturday by a combined team of operatives from ONSA, DSS, the Nigerian Army and the Police.
The rescue was conducted through a joint operation involving the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigerian Armed Forces, showcasing strong inter-agency collaboration.
The commendation was delivered on Sunday by the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, during the formal handover of the rescued victims at the DSS medical facility in Abuja.
Represented by the Consul of the Chinese Embassy, Wang Jun, the ambassador praised the DSS for its intelligence-led approach, which ensured the safe and timely rescue of the abducted Chinese nationals.
Wang also expressed gratitude for the medical care provided to the victims, noting that DSS medical personnel promptly evaluated and treated them before their transfer to the Chinese Embassy.
