Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Romeo Lavia and Benoit Badiashile will miss the Blues’ Premier League trip to Brentford on Saturday night.
The Italian coach provided the update during his pre-match press conference, noting that while both players are edging closer to full fitness, they are not yet ready for action.
Maresca said:
“Romeo is not ready yet. It is the same situation for Benoit [Badiashile]. They are both close but not available for tomorrow [the game against Brentford].”
Chelsea head into the London derby on the back of a 2-0 win over Fulham before the international break. The Blues currently sit second on the Premier League table, behind leaders Liverpool, after three games.
