Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca says forward Cole Palmer is still not back to full training ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Brentford.
Palmer limped off during the warm-up before the 5-1 win over West Ham and missed the 2-0 victory against Fulham prior to the international break.
Speaking at his press conference, Maresca gave an update:
“Cole took part in the session yesterday for the first time. Not the entire session. We have one more session, we are going to try with him. We will see if it is okay. Otherwise, he will be out again tomorrow. He is recovering from an injury. It is not managing him, it is recovery.”
Maresca also confirmed that Liam Delap faces up to 12 weeks out with a hamstring injury sustained against Fulham.
Meanwhile, new signing Alejandro Garnacho, who joined from Manchester United, is still short of full fitness.
“Liam is around 10 to 12 weeks. Long way to go! He [Garnacho] is working well. For sure, he needs to work. He arrived not 100 per cent fit. Hopefully, soon we can give him minutes.”
