Chelsea have been fined £25,000 by the Football Association (FA) after accumulating a series of bookings in their 2-1 Premier League defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford last weekend.
Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was shown a straight red card just five minutes into the match, while United midfielder Casemiro received a second yellow card before halftime, leaving both teams with 10 men.
The Blues were also handed six yellow cards during the fiery encounter, with cautions issued to Marc Cucurella, Trevoh Chalobah, Enzo Fernandez, Tosin Adarabioyo and Tyrique George.
This latest punishment continues Chelsea’s poor disciplinary record. They were fined £25,000 for eight yellow cards against Bournemouth in September 2024, £50,000 for six bookings against Nottingham Forest in October, and £75,000 for another six against Newcastle the same month.
In their last five league matches, Chelsea have received 12 yellow cards and one red card, ranking among the most ill-disciplined sides in the Premier League.
