Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has cautioned his players to remain humble despite their emphatic 4-1 victory over Gabon in Rabat on Thursday.
The win sealed Nigeria’s place in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs, but Chelle warned that the job is not yet done.
“They did well, but this is nothing because they have another game in two days. Maybe after the second game, we can smile,” he said during the post-match briefing.
Nigeria must now defeat the Democratic Republic of Congo on Sunday to secure a slot in the Intercontinental Playoffs.
The match will take place at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat, with kickoff scheduled for 8pm Nigerian time.
