Super Eagles boss Eric Chelle has opted to leave out team captain William Troost-Ekong from the starting XI for today’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.
In his place, rising talent Benjamin Fredericks will partner Calvin Bassey in the heart of Nigeria’s defence, while Ola Aina and Bruno Onyemaechi occupy the full-back roles.
In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi will don the captain’s armband and anchor play, joined by Frank Onyeka and Alex Iwobi.
Leading the line is Victor Osimhen, supported on the flanks by Moses Simon and Ademola Lookman, as the Eagles aim to strengthen their qualification hopes.
The clash is scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, with kick-off set for 5:00 pm Nigerian time.
