Nigerian culinary star Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has dismissed viral claims that she is preparing to attempt a Guinness World Record for the largest pot of beans.
The rumor began circulating days after chef Hilda Baci set a new Guinness World Record for cooking the largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice.
Addressing the speculation in a video posted on her social media page on Wednesday, Chef Dammy firmly denied any such plans while also sending her best wishes to Hilda.
“So, I am making this video because of those asking if I want to cook again. Some of my classmates are asking if I truly want to cook beans? Like, no! Why would I do that?” she said.
She went on to congratulate Hilda on her record-breaking achievement. “I would like to say a very big congratulations to Miss Hilda for the just completed project of cooking the biggest pot of jollof rice to feed thousands. Congratulations to Nigeria and to all the African countries.”
Chef Dammy first gained national attention in 2023 after her controversial cook-a-thon attempt, which generated mixed reactions online and offline.
