Nollywood actor Charles Born has reflected on his career journey as he marks one year in the Nigerian film industry, describing the milestone as a testament to faith, perseverance, and growth.
Taking to Instagram, the actor expressed gratitude for the opportunities that have shaped his rapid rise in Nollywood. He recalled his early days transitioning from a career in radio broadcasting to acting, a move that came with significant uncertainty and repeated rejection.
Born revealed that after moving from full-time to part-time radio to pursue acting, his efforts initially yielded little success. Despite attending auditions, reaching out to directors, and producing monologues, he said his attempts were met with silence.
In 2024, he made a decisive move to fully commit to acting, resigning from radio with limited financial resources. According to him, that leap of faith marked a turning point in his career.
One year later, Born says the decision has paid off, with more than 40 film credits to his name within a short period. He described the achievement as overwhelming and something he could hardly have imagined just a year earlier.
The actor credited his growth to a strong support system, particularly his manager and the wider Nollywood community, thanking everyone who believed in him and offered opportunities along the way.
While noting that he is still striving toward bigger goals and dream roles, Born said he remains grateful for the journey so far. He encouraged aspiring creatives not to abandon their dreams, stressing that consistency and belief are key to long-term success.
