Nigerian celebrity auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has been discharged and acquitted of any involvement in the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.
The Lagos State court cleared IVD on Monday, December 15, 2025, ending a three-year legal battle with Bimbo’s family, who had accused him of causing her death.
The news was shared on Instagram by his new partner and self-styled relationship expert, Blessing CEO, who celebrated the court victory while encouraging followers to leave toxic relationships.
“Discharge and acquitted 15th December 2025. It ended in praise. Four years of tears and false narratives. Nigeria justice system still works. I’m proud of my country. IVD, you can now have your life back. Congratulations. If marriage or relationship no dey work, please run ooooooo, run oooooo, don’t wait for anybody to pass. Run,” she wrote.
Bimbo Ogbonna died in October 2022 after sustaining injuries in a fire incident reportedly linked to domestic violence at their Lagos residence, according to reports by Daily Post.
In March 2023, IVD was arraigned by the Lagos State Government on charges of involuntary manslaughter but was released on bail. He was later rearrested on August 1, 2025, while travelling to Qatar ahead of his wedding with Blessing CEO, by the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
The acquittal marks the end of a high-profile legal ordeal for the celebrity dealer, allowing him to move forward with his personal life.
