Several Nigerian celebrities have raised alarm over the worsening security situation in the country, following a deadly attack on Christians during Palm Sunday in Jos, Plateau State.
Singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, expressed frustration over what he described as widespread complacency. Reacting via his X account, the Jos-born artist said Nigerians were not showing enough anger in the face of repeated violence.
Comedian and activist Mr Macaroni also criticised the federal government, accusing the administration of Bola Tinubu of failing to demonstrate leadership. He described the government as lacking accountability and questioned why the President had not addressed the nation following reports that dozens of people were killed in the attack.
Mr Macaroni further lamented the frequency of tragic incidents across the country, stating that Nigerians are forced to confront new losses almost daily. He argued that the situation reflects a deeper governance failure.
Actor Kunle Remi added his voice by calling for a symbolic protest. In a video message, he urged citizens to highlight images and videos depicting the country’s hardship and insecurity while marking the President’s recent birthday, rather than celebratory messages.
The reactions have intensified conversations online, with many Nigerians echoing concerns over persistent violence and calling for urgent and decisive action to address the country’s security challenges.
