Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi was on Wednesday assaulted at a Kisumu City coffee house by a group of rowdy youth, his aide said. The lawmaker is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.
The senator had made a routine visit to Westend Mall to get a shave before going to Java Restaurant, where he met a friend and chatted with members of the public for about thirty minutes.
During this time, a group of armed individuals confronted him, questioning his political stance and subsequently physically assaulting him.
