Nigerian internet personality Carter Efe and street-pop singer Portable are preparing to settle their rivalry in the ring at a celebrity boxing event scheduled for May 1 in Lagos.
The bout will headline “Chaos in the Ring,” a major fight night organised by Balmoral Group Promotions in partnership with AK Promotions. The event is expected to highlight emerging boxing talent from Africa while blending professional fights with celebrity appearances.
The programme will take place at the Federal Palace Hotel and will be streamed live worldwide on DAZN.
Celebrity clash expected to draw massive attention
The celebrity match between Carter Efe and Portable has already generated buzz online, driven by the pair’s large fan base and ongoing rivalry. Together, the two entertainers command more than 10 million followers across social media platforms.

Promoters highlight Africa’s growing boxing influence
Chief Executive Officer of Balmoral Group Promotions, Ezekiel Adamu, said the event was designed to spotlight African boxing talent on a global stage.
According to him, the partnership with former world champion Amir Khan aims to bring greater international attention to the continent’s fighters.
Khan also expressed excitement about the upcoming event, noting that the energy and enthusiasm for boxing across Africa are unlike anywhere else.
With celebrity entertainment and professional contests combined on one card, organisers expect the Lagos event to draw global attention to Africa’s boxing scene.
