Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B has shared her thoughts on Ramadan, expressing admiration for Muslims who observe the annual fast while joking about her own inability to go without food for long periods.
In a clip from an Instagram Live session, the rapper said fasting would be particularly challenging for her because she struggles with hunger shortly after waking up.
“To my Muslims out there doing Ramadan fasting, God knew not to make me a Muslim,” she said humorously, adding that if she goes about three hours without eating, she begins to feel unwell.
Cardi B explained that hunger makes her irritable and can trigger physical discomfort, including headaches. She remarked that she does not believe she has the endurance required for fasting during Ramadan.
Despite the lighthearted tone of her comments, the rapper commended Muslims for their devotion and discipline during the holy month.
“They love their God so much. I love when people are loyal to their creator,” she said.
Ramadan is observed by Muslims worldwide as a period of fasting, prayer and reflection. During the month, observers abstain from food and drink from dawn until sunset.
