The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have been dealt a double blow ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff clash against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Key players Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting have both withdrawn from the squad’s training camp in Rabat, Morocco, after picking up injuries.
Anguissa, who plays for Napoli, suffered a hamstring injury during Tuesday’s training session, while Choupo-Moting sustained a knee sprain.
In addition, first-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana is reportedly managing an ankle injury, raising further concerns for head coach Marc Brys ahead of Thursday night’s encounter at the Barid Stadium in Rabat.
The winner of the Cameroon–DR Congo tie will advance to face either Nigeria or Gabon in the playoff final on Sunday, at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium.
