
Nigeria’s Afrobeats stars are set to take center stage at the 11th All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), with Burna Boy, Davido, and Ayra Starr leading the race for Artiste of the Year.
The nominees’ list, released ahead of the ceremony, highlights Nigeria’s continued dominance in African music. Both Burna Boy and Davido received five nominations each, while rising star Shallipopi earned four nods, including Artiste of the Year and Song of the Year.
Global sensation Rema also secured three nominations, featuring in the Artiste of the Year category. Meanwhile, Ayra Starr, with two nominations, will compete alongside the heavyweights as well as Moroccan hitmaker El Grande Toto.
Voting for the awards opens to the public on September 10, allowing fans worldwide to participate in selecting this year’s winners.
The 2025 AFRIMA ceremony is scheduled to hold in Nigeria from November 25 to 30, bringing together the continent’s finest talents for a week-long celebration of African music and culture.
The annual awards remain one of Africa’s biggest music platforms, spotlighting artistry, innovation, and the global influence of Afrobeats.
