Global K-pop sensation BTS has made a powerful return to the music scene with their fifth studio album, ‘ARIRANG’, achieving record-breaking sales within hours of release.
According to Hanteo Chart, the album sold approximately 3.98 million copies on its first day, surpassing the group’s previous milestone set by ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: 7’ in 2020, which recorded 3.37 million first-day sales.
The 14-track project reflects BTS’s artistic growth, blending diverse sounds and themes that highlight their evolution over the years.
Leading the album is the title track “SWIM,” a reflective and melodic piece that centers on resilience and navigating life’s challenges. Other notable songs include “Body to Body,” which fuses hip-hop elements with traditional Korean instrumentation, and “Hooligan,” an energetic track driven by industrial influences.
Beyond physical sales, ‘ARIRANG’ has achieved widespread global success on digital platforms. The album has topped the iTunes Top Albums chart in 88 countries, including Italy, Mexico, and Sweden.
Similarly, its lead single “SWIM” has dominated iTunes Top Songs charts in 90 countries, including major markets such as the United States, Japan, United Kingdom, Germany, and France.
To mark the comeback, BTS is set to headline the ‘BTS Comeback Live: ARIRANG’ concert at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. The event will be streamed globally via Netflix and is expected to attract an audience of up to 260,000 people.
The record-breaking release further cements BTS’s position as one of the most influential music acts in the world, with their latest project resonating strongly across both domestic and international audiences.
